Was that a simple decision for you? Did you pick the scene that made you feel good, made you feel happy?
The same goes for how we choose to go through our day. We can choose the options that make us happy. We can choose to see the positive side of an event. We can choose to focus on the good things that happened in our day. We can choose to focus on what we have, what we’re grateful for.
But we don’t. Why is that?
In 2005, the National Science Foundation published an article showing that the average person has between 12,000 and 60,000 thoughts per day, of those, 80% are negative.
Ask someone how they are... most of the time the answers are: tired, stressed, busy.
Or take the example of receiving feedback for something... I guarantee you’ll focus 100 times more on any negative feedback than if someone told you how great you were.
Negative thoughts can have detrimental effects on our health and our lifestyle. Yet it’s such an easy thing to change.
Create some awareness... look for the positives and make a choice to focus on them.
I guarantee you’ll notice the difference. And best of all it’s as simple as the choice you made above.
